Originally by: Paradoxex Perhaps what is going on affects more than just the Minmatar and the Amarr. Perhaps such an insular view is foolish at best, calamitous at worst. It is convenient to proliferate the propaganda that those who side with the Ushra'Khan are pirates, vandals of space. It allows you to hide the innocent among you from the real truth....the beacon of light from which you must shield the eyes of your naively faithful.
You see, my dear friends, your struggle does not persist in a vacuum. Eyes around the galaxy have watched Providence for some time, and they have catalogued its developments. For whatever reason, a great multitude of those eyes have decided that it is the slaver rather than the "terrorist" that is worthy of their malice...their spite. You have been dismissive of the outside for a long time...and yesterday you felt the consequences of your disposition first hand. I do hope your ignorant bliss has justified your losses.
I do hope your doctrine is strong. Strength is something you all shall need, as you have lost public opinion, and popular morality as weapons of your side. All the vain screaming that Unity is infested with unsavory characters cannot change that. That loss is permanent. You are the slaver. The subjugator. The villain.
Welcome to reality. I'm sure you won't stay long.
Deacon Ishtal studied the latest intelligence reports from 9UY in earnest, tapping his stylus against the rapidly scrolling list of vessels and allegiances. A quick series of commands halted the rapid scroll and superimposed the selected vessels with captains bios.
"Computer, capture with audio: As you can see, a number of groups formerly hostile to the terrorists have taken up arms in their defense. These captains in particular have extensive records of pirate activity against agents in our space as well as formerly held terrorist space. While this may pose additional challenges to our forces, I believe it indicates our mission is in fact proceeding. The lawless and heretic alike fear our movements and seek to stop us. God has laid our enemies before us. Amarr Victor. End capture. Transmit priority sigma seven."
The Deacon reclined slightly and meshed his fingers in contemplation. Things were indeed more complex than he had originally thought, but it made little difference. The pirate and terrorist may side together today, but in a month, a year, or a lifetime from now, the CVA would not falter so. The mission to the citizens of Providence, the duty to the Empire, our faith in God, would never waiver. A terrorist may stoop to any low, but the loyal and faithful take the righteous path and prevail.
